Who: Leo (aka Kisses), Clangers, Ceffy, Jeanne, Bentot and the beautiful Me. :)

When: Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at 8:00pm. Manila time.

Where: Mom and Tina’s Bakery Cafe, along Perea street and Dela Rosa in Makati.

The Others: Deki got sick, Carlo was stucked with law issues (he’s taking up Law), Mae has her 3 months mind boosting training in Europe and Tinggie is still and ever will be enslaving herself in Japan and oh, congratulations Tinggie sweetie :) for you X300 project.  —>>  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sq7yKMjz-0c&NR=1.  Yay!

Here’s a little flashback of a planned event last Wednesday (20080820) after work.

Cef, came home from a month training that requires him to stay in Australia. We celebrated his home coming and of course to get our pasalubongs - which is the primary purpose of this get together. Hehe. We ate at Mom and Tina’s Bakery Cafe along Makati. The place is comfy, great country ambeince and a perfect place to gather friends. Sadly, we are only 6 and the other half couldn’t make it, or are nowhere to be found.

The following are taken in a coffee shop along Ayala Ave (except the 2nd one haha). We were waiting for my Papoi to pick me up at 12:00am. I’m Cinderella in real life, the difference is I have an attitude of her two step sisters.

The history of hugs and kisses happened in our freshman year in College. We were seatmates…. then history. We just get used calling each other the popular chocolates of Mr Milton Hershey.

There we go, two months of planning and we have finally set our out-of-the-city fun crazy day/s. I miss them so much. Now, I know why God made such friends - after all those busy schedules, stressed out days, hell weeks and never ending complaints about blah-blahs - friends.. ahm, SuperFriends will always be there to brighten up your day. Like the last cookie. You won’t give nor share the last piece with your friend instead will happily and open heartedly break it into half.

Option Number 2

one comment

The worst realization hit me just right now.

A friend came home from somewhere countries away. Excitedly, I set up all the possible get togethers, immediate friend’s gimmicks, out of town gatherings where in the long list does not include my one-on-one chitchats with her, yet. The idea is that you two should be having some kind of bonding that only you two could understand - the vanity clicks, wistfulness, food trips and jaw-dropping laughs. I have reached out so much that it turned out me being over reacting. Maybe people can blame me for being so pushy and overly excited to the fact that your friend, after eight months of being absent is finally here. Take note that my being melodramatic led me to coordinate with other and almost all friends so that she won’t be having a hard time reaching out to them. My only wish is that we can meet up and fill up the missing blanks.

But, I never felt being a priority. Sigh. I may sound selfish (actually I am selfish) but it’s true that I want sana something in return and that is to talk to her and spend time with our friendship. Sigh. Maybe I miss her a lot. But maybe, I should stop pushing so much. Maybe its time to make her move naman and to know that what I’m doing is worth all efforts. I am saddened lang that I never felt an inch of force from her.

Yes! I am nagtatampo but what can say? If you were in my shoes, you’ll terribly terribly feel the same.

Missing Them

leave a comment

Last Saturday, I and my college superfriends had a get together in Eastwood to catch up things and to discuss our upcoming trip on December. Our last get together happened when Tinggie needs to leave for Japan last March of this year. First, we meet up in Coffee Bean then fill our stomach with pizza and pasta in Pasto. It was really great to see their funny faces again and to talk stuffs back in college. From the day of our graduation last May 2005 until now, I can say that our friendship matures a lot. Like the topics that we are discussing, interest in with-sense thingies, plans for the future in career, family and life in general. Take for example Ben, after two years and a half of being so devoted to work, he now has a townhouse [Woah! Marry me Ben! Hehe], Ceffie who’s motto in life right now is “I am good at breaking my heart” [oh come on Cef, where the heck that came from?] and who plans on moving outside the country after he finished his bonds with DOST. Deki who now has a new extravagant phone [and starring ME, as his wallpaper] and is promoted to a Junior Dev Manager in Henry Sy’s newly established bank and Clangers, who is a devoted nocturnal person and is still a very good storryteller [nothing have changed clang! except those bigger cheeks that you now have]. Me? Oh well, same old wanna-be-escapee of my current company which still have no time to update my CV. Unfortunately, some couldn’t make it. Carl who is reviewing for his law exams, Leo and May-an attending on a more important stuff [tell me, what the heck is the "more important stuff" mean?], Tinggie who is enslaving her entire life with work and currently making a lot of yen in Emperor Akihito’s state.

What pains me most is that two of the best people in my life are hurting. One cannot answer my questions and one is seeking for my answers. The most appropriate and the modest thing to do is put yourself in the middle of these unparallel, sentimental creatures. Both are my good companions who chooses to see each other as more than friends. Now, both became a boa constrictor who wants to squash my head, punch my body and eat my soul. Both are asking for my help. Two different views, emotions and perceptions.

A storm broke the calmness of the sea
Flooded the rivers an destroyed some trees
Tears have fallen ’till drought came
And brought you nothing, nothing but pain
Leaves of roses have fallen and petals too
A broken promise and a trust to lose
These cloudy days came, and then there’s you
A butterfly of beauty, a flying canvas of hue
Like vincent’s hanging in a hall
A blooming flower in spring from falls
You’ve shown you can and proved you could
Swim gracefully even with a wound.

A simple poem, my friend offered me last April 2005. Just trying to recall events from the past. A past that shouldn’t been recalled. Trying to feel, to perceive and to have an instinctive understanding why things happen, worse, to feel pain.

Now, I can clearly see, past is just past where you learn to be tough and hard. Future is waiting. Present needs more embrace

i admire your focus. galing sa isang taong napakaikli ng attention span, that’s a lot. my attention span is like of a 5-year old child. are you familiar sa old chinese saying na, “if you chase two rabbits, both will escape”? in my case, i’m chasing a herd of rabbits. i know that both of us have a lot of things going through our mind lately, but i think our difference is on how you organize it inside your brain.

base on our individual work loads everyday, obvious naman na mas marami kang ginagawa. you are the martha stewart of multi-tasking. i really don’t know how you can juggle all of those things in a day. i know minsan nakaka-frustrate na yang ginagawa mo but always look on the bright side. stress is a positive force in our career if you can harness it correctly. you have the making of a great leader someday. konting experience and fine-tuning pa and you’ll be ready to face bigger opportunities and challenges. one piece of unsolicited advice, slow down once in a while for you to see what’s really important in your life. it doesn’t make sense if one aspect of your life is doing good while the other is suffering.

that’s just my 2 cents worth. that’s what i’m lacking - focus. what i did here is one proof of my lack of it. well, thanks for your time. i have to get back to my work. i’ll pop you in after 5 minutes.
