Wrap for Less

Every Christmas season one thing that I do enjoy is wrapping gifts. It was supposed to be shopping but nope, not really. What consumes almost all my time is thinking of the best presentation for the gifts, and not the gift itself. Hehe. I always believe in the saying - “it’s the thought that counts”. Maybe it is just the art of wrapping gifts and maybe my excuse or I am more eager to see the smile on their faces seeing my wrapped gifts and is praising the present cover.

One Christmas I used the following - the never read colored magazines and out-to-date newspaper. I tear the pieces, and stick them together. Take note that when you stick them up, newspaper and the magazines should have no pattern, should be randomly joined together using a thinned layered line of paper paste or glue. Let it dry for five minutes. Then holla, you have just created your personalized wrapper. For some add ons, you can also create ribbons, use the cut letters or images, put some magazine shapes like circles, triangle, square, diamonds, stars using these materials. See, it’s simple, easy and majestic!

Last year, I have no time to wrap gifts, what I have used are the papel de hapon. That’s it! You can buy it in the nearest bookstore and may be vary to different colors.

For this year I have used the following:

Materials:
Art Paper
Scissors
Paste or Glue

You can use a plain colored art paper or put it together with different colors and stick then with a paste or glue.

Tip: I never used scotch tape or a “tape”. It will look neat if you use paste or glue instead of tape when covering your presents. And every material used is cheaper than the usual Christmas wrapper, true! Try it!
