Oh well, enough with labor topics.
Last Oct 9 was my Papoi’s 51st birthday. It was just a simple celebration. I bought his favorites, rocky road yum yum cake and double dutch ice cream. Nothing beyond normal happened. But the plus one age of my Papoi and knowing that I still have him on my side. Watching him sleeping on the couch while perfectly holding his mug with a half full already been out of the hot temperature coffee. Or the way we enjoy eating sweet finger food together while my Mamoi is jealously eating her fresh fruits. Or how we spend our weekend lunch watching Kenjin Himura’s series and on how Kenjin fought his allies with his Hiten Mitsurugi style. Or how he again and again and again watches his favorite movies. Hmm, morning questions like “Sasabay ka ba? Buendia?“. Or how he always self-proud telling some of his stories which I seldom got bored listening to. How he patiently wait for me and Mamoi finish our on Sale shopping.
Back from the past. Things that I have learned from my Papoi that I heartily keep until now:
- Making a kite.
- Fly a kite.
- Using tirador.
- How to pick the best pebble for tirador.
- How to use a pellet gun.
- How to shut pellet gun accurately to the target.
- How to use water gun.
- How to shut water gun straight to a dog’s eyes.
- How to kick dog’s nose
- Use household tools.
- How to ride a bike. Fyi: I didn’t learn. Haha!
- Taught me how to use chopsticks. Step 1: get the buto of calamansi in toyo. Haha!
- How to defend yourself using an umbrella.
- How to wash car.
- Introduced the rhythm of Jazz, Bossa and Blues
- Open my heart with classics.
- The love of canvas and colors.
- Being proud of the country.
- Grateful of the smallest blessings.
- Be an adventurer and the love of travel.
Those are the commons. This page is not enough how my dad became the greatest ever. Well, unfortunately, my Papoi fail to teach me how to punch real hard. Which I have learned from myself, when someone dared me to knock him out. I won. Of course.
Also, Hong Kong happened! Our family vacation for the year. Fun! Papoi even jokingly said that next year would be Vienna. This vacation is a post celebration for my Mamoi’s birthday on November. Can’t wait for my next journey with my Mamoi and Papoi.
Sigh.
